Since 2004, Cakes By Design has been a cornerstone of Barrie, Ontario, born from the shared passion of Jen & Michelle for cake artistry.
What began as a small local shop has flourished into a celebrated destination bakery, with over 50 years of combined expertise crafting unforgettable custom cakes. Our creations have earned acclaim in the Toronto Star and major media outlets, cementing our reputation as a leader in the industry.
For two decades, we’ve proudly served as a pillar of our community, bringing joy to countless celebrations.
Our Commitment
At CBD it is the goal of our team of cake and sugar artists to work within your budget to help you design/create/craft that extra special cake that you will remember for years to come. (Each cake artist brings their own unique creativity to each design.)
We welcome photos of cakes created by others to use as ideas for your design. In the same way that an autograph is unique to each person, a cake will be unique to the artist who has created it using their (specific) recipes, methods and tools.

At Cakes By Design our passion is creating unique and custom desserts to delight and enhance our customer’s personal experience. We believe in sharing our wealth of knowledge in cake artistry to educate and inspire fellow artisans and cake enthusiasts alike.

Our talented cake designers create cakes of all shapes and sizes: unique, 3D, anniversary, baby shower, bridal shower, events, birthday for all ages and interests, seasonal, religious, sports, and beautiful wedding cakes are in our galleries.
30 FLAVOURS! Our recipes and flavours range from Vanilla to Lemon to Chocolate Grand Marnier.
All of our products, including cookies, cakes and other sweets are completely NUT FREE!
